We were connected to a volunteer coffee barista who was also a direct service provider at Freedom Place.  We were able to hand deliver this box of cards to her & the cards were directly delivered to the girls who were living at Freedom Place at that time. The girls made is thank you cards and sent them back to us, thanking us for the cards we made for them.

The girls at FP were also inspired by the cards we made for them & made cards for survivors at a sister ministry safe-house in another country!
How we feel about how this started, and where it is going…..
“FIGHT SONG” by Rachel Platten
“This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I’m alright song
My power’s turned on
(Starting right now) I’ll be strong
I’ll play my fight song
And I don’t really care if nobody else believes
‘Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me”.
STAY TUNED….We’ve got so much more to tell you about.

What?
Come hang out and make cards with us!

We are hosting our second annual card making event on May 31st. This is a time when we come together for a few hours to make homemade, handwritten cards with words of encouragement and inspiration for human trafficking (modern-day slavery) victims and survivors currently residing in safe houses and shelters. According to staff and volunteers, there are positive responses from the recipients, so we want to continue to help encourage and uplift in any way we can. We collaborate with Written on Your Heart- Houston, who will deliver the cards.

Additionally, we will collect monetary donations for the Houston Rescue and Restore Coalition (HRRC), an organization seeking to prevent modern-day slavery through education, training, and community empowerment. Monies collected from the event will go directly to this organization.

We will provide the supplies needed to create the cards. Feel free to bring any other supplies you want to use to spark your creativity. There will be refreshments served and we will provide information related to human
trafficking.
